Dorea Chege, a Maria actor, revealed that she withdrew from the contest for Nairobi Women’s Representative because of the ongoing threats she was getting.
The actress claimed she has lofty objectives in politics and is a natural leader, but she decided to resign because she wasn’t prepared to handle the threats, according to an interview with Buzz Central.
Dorea continued by saying that she frequently received calls from politicians offering to buy her support or offering to pay her to resign.
“People came up to me and said they would pay me a specific amount of money to resign, while others asked me to assist them with campaigns. I wasn’t sure what I wanted, and I wasn’t prepared to cope with all those threats, so I backed out.
She initially took the choice to enter politics as a joke when her cameraman created political posters for her, but as they became popular online, she made the decision to actually do it.
Dorea Chege’s political aspirations are not gone, despite her decision to give up this time; she is prepared to attempt again in the future.
