Who will win 2022 election? Google Reveals the Currently top searched Questions in Kenya

In order to find out what Kenyans were looking for between July 3 and August 1, Google revealed information on the top trending searches and most frequently asked queries on its search engine.

In that order, “when is the Kenya election,” “when will the campaign for the 2022 election conclude,” “when are the elections in Kenya,” and “who is in charge of a voting station” were the top inquiries regarding the elections in Kenya.

Other popular searches on elections by Kenyans include “who will win the 2022 election in Kenya,” “how many days till the 2022 election in Kenya,” “when was the 2013 general election held,” “why were the 2017 elections invalidated,” and “how long does it take to swear in a new president in Kenya.”

Google claims that Kenyans used the internet to follow political parties and their respective presidential candidates.

There was a greater surge in searches for David Mwaure Waihiga than for the other candidates, making him the trending candidate. He was followed by William Ruto, Raila Odinga, and George Wajackoyah, in that order. The most popular searches during a certain time frame are considered trending searches.

 

According to Sharon Machira, Google’s Communications and Public Affairs Manager, “this is a crucial period for Kenya’s democracy and it’s amazing to see that people are collectively using Google Search to assist them discover answers to their most pressing issues concerning the elections.”

She continued by saying that on August 9 at 2 PM, they would unveil a Live Elections Results One-Box in collaboration with ReutersGoogle.

This application will improve Kenyans’ experience on Google Search by posting presidential results as they come in from voting places five minutes after they are declared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
